Name: | "Barian" Failnaught |
---|---|
Birthdate: | Jul 13 |
Name: Failnaught
Age: Unknown, appears as a young man
Bio: Likely one of the oldest of the surviving Barians, Failnaught has the particular ability to understand how to "recreate" the Barians from their weapons. Without him, the possibility of ever surviving would have been null a long, long time ago. Not that this ability is infinite, however, and it ties into a major problem with the Barian World: the weapons that act as the Barian's core, their souls, still need energy and materials to recreate themselves. If there isn't enough energy or material, they can't reconstitute themselves-- and connected to this, is the fact that the Barian World is rapidly running out of energy and substance. And he can't do anything if the weapon is also too damaged. And even then, when he recreates a Barian... it's like they're being reborn. They can have a different personality or outlook, and sometimes lack the complete memories from their previous existence.
As a result, Failnaught has gone through a lot of emotional grief when it comes to his comrades-- especially in the case of two particular Barians, Moralltach and Beagalltach. He was a close friend of them in their original incarnations, and has a very bad habit, even after all of this time, of projecting those memories onto their recreated selves. This has become even harder on him, since they simply vanished some years back, and he was apparently one of the last ones who saw them before their vanishing. As a result he has become somewhat... reclusive.
Otherwise, he is very dedicated to his cause, and he certainly isn't blind to what might be happening. As it is, he has some... suspicions, as to the truth behind Beagalltach and Moralltach's disappearance, but given the circumstances of their dying world, he can't afford to make accusations. So he bides his time, hoping, waiting.
And hoping that this wasn't all for naught.
